Waterford Retirement Residence

Client: Chartwell Retirement Residences

Status: Completed - 2017

Location: 2160 Baronwood Drive, Oakville ON

Project Type: Multi-Residential, Senior's

Service: Architecture

This project was completed under the Certificate of Practice issued to Michael Spaziani Architect Inc., prior to their merging with SRM Architects Inc.

Completed in the fall of 2017, MSAi was commissioned to design and prepare contract documents for this 140 unit, 130,000 ft² retirement residence in Oakville.

This project was the first of several projects commissioned by Chartwell to include a Memory Living Quad, facilitating ease of life for all residents, including those with the onset of cognitive issues related to memory loss.

The Building also contains a large sunken courtyard that allows for plenty of natural light to penetrate the lower level amenities.

This project is also connected to the neighbouring Long-Term Care Home (designed by others), giving families the opportunity to remain together as their care needs evolve.
