SRM provided Architectural Prime Consultant Services for this new 2-storey office and administration building, which serves as the National Headquarters for the Christian Labor Association of Canada (CLAC).
Given it’s prominent location on the highly visible, 401 corridor in Cambridge, the building was designed with a strong presence from both the front entrance, and the back, which is visible from the highway. However, as CLAC receives much of their capital from Union Members, SRM worked with CLAC to develop a practical design which was also cost-effective. This included decisions to help control ongoing operating costs of the building in the long-term.
The goal of the new facility was to centralize many of CLAC’s existing operations which were dispersed across Southern Ontario. It includes an inviting central atrium, offices and workspaces for staff, as well as state-of-the-art training facilities and computer labs.
