A New Chapter is Beginning at SRM Architects + Urban Designers!

After 20 years of leadership, Edward Thomas is stepping back from his role as our President and Principal Architect to move into an advisory and mentorship role within the firm.

With over 30 years’ experience in the Architectural Industry, Edward has left a lasting mark on communities across Ontario, and played an instrumental role in our firm's growth and evolution. This is reflected in the buildings he has designed, the relationships he has built, and the people he has mentored.

As part of this transition, we are proud to announce the team who will build upon the strong foundation established by Edward and those who came before, to advance our firm’s culture of strong relationships and thoughtful design.

Leading this team is Ryan Hicks, who will be the new President of SRM. With over 25 years in the industry, Ryan brings a diverse range of experience and strong leadership to this role.

Ryan will be joined by Tracey Swift (Partner and Director of Operations), Marc Villemaire (Partner and Director of Business Development), Patty Graham (Partner), Jennifer Haliburton (Partner), and Jeff Atchison (Partner).  Edward will remain a Partner, and continue to share his experience, strategic insight, and passion for architecture.

While SRM continues to grow and evolve, our purpose remains unchanged: to enrich communities by designing innovative and purposeful spaces that enhance how people live, work, and move.
