The 2-storey, 25,000 ft² North American Head Office For Rockwool (previously Roxul) was completed in 2014. The two-storey building includes private offices, meeting rooms, open work areas, as well as storage and employee amenity areas.
Given Rockwool’s status as a leader in supporting eco-friendly, healthy livingthrough their products, sustainability was a key objective of the project. We were able to achieve this through designing a building which is LEED® Gold Certified. This was achieved by utilizing Rockwool’s own insulation and acoustic products to help achieve low annual energy consumption for the building.
Other sustainable design features include, an open-concept floor plan and large central atrium to maximize natural lighting throughout the entire office, motion-sensor lights and HVAC systems, drought resistant landscaping, rain water harvesting and grey water reuse.
